Pinot gris 2015

THE PLACE
This wine is born of a one acre block of Pinot Gris in spectacular Kozier Organic Vineyard on the Naramata Bench. The block slopes west to face the setting sun and Okanagan Lake. The synergy of a warm microclimate with cool soils ensures long, even ripening.

From March pruning to harvest on September 27th, we followed the vineyard closely to ensure ideal vine balance and yield.

THE WINE
Whole bunches were hand harvested, gently pressed, and free run juice was settled overnight and taken straight to barrel. Fermentation was completed over two months in neutral French oak barrels. The wine remained on lees in barrel for a total of 10 months.

TASTING NOTES
Asian pear, ginger spice and floral overtones introduce this atypical Pinot Gris. The wine opens with aeration and swells to a broad mid-palate rich with ripe pear and lemon zest. Electric acidity carries the wine to an intense, long and focused finish.

Serve with hearty roast pork, chicken, grilled halibut with chorizo, or mildly spiced Asian dishes.

Pinot noir 2014

THE PLACE
We grow our pinot noir at Kozier Organic Vineyard on the Naramata bench. The 2 acre block faces west with a gentle slope. Clones 828 and 777 are picked and fermented separately.

THE WINE
Hand harvested and sorted, this pinot noir was fermented in stainless steel tanks. After pressing, the wine was aged in French oak barrels, 30% new, for 12 months. 

TASTING NOTES
The bouquet is like a walk in the forest after a rain: moss, wet leaves, earth. Spice balances fruit: raspberry, clove, vanilla and black pepper. The wine is delicate yet intense. It finishes with red berries, chocolate and torrefaction 

Serve with wild mushroom risotto, duck breast, grilled meat or semi hard cheeses.

Rosé 2016

THE PLACE
On the southern edge of the Naramata Bench, this 8 acre vineyard overlooks the city of Penticton and Okanagan Lake. The 15- year old ungrafted vines are deeply rooted in a mix of silt, sand and granite, sloping west to the brilliant light of the setting sun.

THE WINE
Hand harvested and pressed gently, this vivid colour is the result of just three hours in contact with skins.
93% Zweigelt and 7% Schonberger were co-fermented in stainless steel to preserve the freshness and exuberance of aromas.

TASTING & FOOD PAIRING
An irresistible nose of wild strawberry, red currant and pink grapefruit leads to bold cherry and pomegranate on the palate. The fresh profile and dry finish call for pissaladière, salmon, spot prawns, and a hot afternoon.
