The nose reveals a hint of subtle oak spice followed by small red berries and cassis. A hint of sous-bois –forest floor– is an element of this pinot noir’s growing complexity. On the palate, sweet but restrained fruit leads to fine tannins and a poised finish. This wine calls for earthy meals and meats high in flavour. Duck confit and lamb ragout with root vegetables come to mind, though the wine has the finesse to complement halibut.
