This fall at Roche Wines, we’re pulling corks again so you can explore our portfolio.
Join us as we unlock the doors to our private cellar, where we’ll reveal the secrets of older vintages and special cuvées that are seldom poured.
The 2024 vintage is shaping up to be exceptional – in the sense that it’s a real exception to our normal routine. We’d like to share with you what’s ACTUALLY happening, as misinformation can spread easily.
“There’s something very special about the Naramata Bench sub-region on the southeastern side of British Columbia’s Lake Okanagan,” the article begins, and Rod dove deep into our grapes, terroir and style.
We were so pleased to read that Rod gave our Vig Len’s Cuvée Pinot Noir the highest score of any of his recommended wines from the Naramata Bench.
A barrique, a term originating in Bordeaux, refers to the specific size and shape of a French oak barrel, typically holding 225 litres of wine. The barrique influences not only the flavour, but the texture of the wine. Newer barriques impart delicious vanilla and spice flavours to wines, and add uniquely textured tannins, building the wine’s complexity. Barrels also provide small amounts of oxygen to soften and stabilize the wine.
You know, just like you, we care a lot about the health of our family: exercising (the skiing is getting better and better at Apex this year!) and eating right, making smart choices with what we put in our bodies. Wine is very much a part of our healthy lifestyle – it’s not a contradiction, but part of our intention: plaisir de vivre.
